Alhamdulillah, it is indeed a great honor for me that I have been entrusted in the charge of Auqaf, Hajj, Religious & Minority Affairs Department. The primary and foremost duty of the Government is to provide social and economic relief to its citizenry in general and to the Minorities in particular. With this end in view the Department of Auqaf, Hajj, Religious & Minority Affairs was established way back in the year 2003.
The foremost responsibility of the Government is protection of the rights of all its citizens even handedly. This duty is upheld as sacrosanct not only by the law of the land but also by the religion of Islam. It is also in tandem with the aspiration of the incumbent Government as it strives to realize the concept of welfare state, based on the model of Riast-e-Madina where all-inclusiveness was its hall mark.
For this purpose Auqaf Department closely work with other sister Departments during policy formulation in matters of religion, establishment of peace and tranquility and general order in the society.
Auqaf, Department believes in public service and accountability and has established Complaint Cells which can be accessed through Internet, landlines and correspondence for receiving public complaints.
There is always room for improvement. Auqaf Department welcomes any suggestion for better public service delivery and good governance and will appreciate proposals from any quarter.
Barrister Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel
Minister Auqaf, Hajj, Religious & Minority Affairs
It gives me an immense pleasure to say that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gives special importance to the Auqaf, Hajj, Religious & Minority Affairs Department because of the fact that every segment of our society is shaped by religion. Hence responsibilities assigned to the Auqaf, Hajj, Religious & Minority Affairs Department are of immense importance.
Keeping this thing in mind, the incumbent government focuses on the services offered by the Auqaf, Hajj, Religious & Minority Affairs Department to the public and has allocated sizeable amount of funds for various activities of the Department. Due emphasis has been given to the welfare of minority community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where enormous funds for their development during the financial year 2018-19 have been ear-marked.
So far, protection and safeguarding the rights of the minorities as mandated, the department is well poised in guaranteeing these rights as enunciated in the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
There is no denying the fact that secure and progressive minorities are the building blocks of any secure community and stable society. My vision and aim is very loud and clear and that is to seek just and equitable society and to mainstream the vulnerable and marginalized minorities and to strategize various plans and programmes to reduce the degree of their basic needs, issues & problems.
